EVOLVE: THE PATH TO TRAUMA-INFORMED LEADERSHIP
A new book for brave leaders who know that productivity is not the secret to success. People are. Understanding, caring for and creating safe spaces for people to thrive as their full selves.
Evolve is an invitation to explore giving ourselves as leaders permission to pause and reflect on our behaviour, and to focus on how we can remove unconscious barriers that may be limiting our capacity to lead and embrace human connections and “allow people to be humans at work”.
As we navigate this VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous) world, if you want to evolve your leadership and embark on a journey of self-analysis, self-discovery, and change, Evolve offers concepts and practical advice that is both thorough and easy to apply. A must-read.

Breakthrough new book makes the case why every leader should be trauma informed, and shows the path to becoming one.
Brene Brown’s Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator and Trauma-Informed Leadership Consultant Carolyn Swora launched her second book today, opening a new field of exploration on the link between trauma and its quiet impact on leadership and organizational success. This is recognised as a stepping stone for the whole field of leadership development.
Toronto, April 25th 2023 – Brene Brown’s Certitified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator and Trauma-Informed Leadership Consultant Carolyn Swora launched her second book today titled Evolve: The Path to Trauma-Informed Leadership. The volume opens a new field of exploration on the link between trauma and its quiet impact on leadership and organizational success.
Swora’s research comes to the conclusion that a trauma-informed approach is no longer a nice to have, but rather a necessity for every leader who wants to succeed. No matter the circumstances, the likelihood of organization members having suffered some form of trauma is almost certain, particularly post-pandemic.
After making a case for her breakthrough idea with extensive data, Swora takes a pragmatic approach to trauma-informed leadership with practical tools that can serve in establishing more mindful and to create safer spaces for people to be their full, vibrant, brilliant selves. The author believes that more than productivity this key to growing innovative and industry-leading organizations.
“Carolyn Swora’s book opens a new chapter in the leadership discourse,” declared Glain Roberts-McCabe, leadership consultant of thirty years and founder of The Roundtable, a coaching organization developing leaders. “The idea that a trauma-informed approach is not only one of the several possible leadership styles but should be a must for every leader, is bold and revolutionary. We’ve been dancing around the idea of trauma-informed leadership for the last five years. And, honestly, it once made me feel like I had to be a trauma therapist as well as all of the pressures of modern leadership. Carolyn’s research proves that’s not the case, quite the opposite in fact. We will continue talking about it for years to come.”
“While this book is a practical guide and data-backed exploration of trauma as a human experience and how that shows up in the workplace, it is also very personal,” Swora said. “I have dedicated this book to my two sons, Ayden and Andrew. They were the ones who encouraged me to take a look inwards at what I felt were big, scary places and let the sun shine in after the loss of my first husband to a devastating form of renal cancer. This is where I finally realized just how important this work is, and everything about my approach to leadership development changed thereafter. The results for organizations who are willing to take this approach to leadership have been astounding.”
Evolve: The Path to Trauma-Informed Leadership is available for purchase from today. It can be found on all major book retail platforms.
